Detailed Overview of BUK’s 2022/2023 Academic Calendar

Registration for Fresh and Returning Students:

A Month-long Process
Commencing on Monday, 10th July and running through to 10th August 2023, both fresh and returning students will be provided with ample time to register for the academic session.

First Semester: A Mix of Academics and Breaks
First Semester Lectures will kick-off on Monday, 24th July, spanning over 13 weeks until 28th October 2023. A week-long mid-semester break, starting from Monday, 11th to 17th September 2023, will serve as a period for rest and recuperation. The First Semester Examinations will then follow from Monday, 30th October until 25th November 2023.

To close out the semester, students will have a week-long break from Monday, 27th November to 3rd December 2023, offering them a chance to relax and prepare for the second semester.

Second Semester: A Continuation of Rigorous Academics
The Second Semester Lectures will commence on Monday, 4th December 2023 and will run through to 2nd March 2024, also spanning 13 weeks. A mid-semester break will occur from Monday, 15th to 21st January 2024, breaking up the academic rigour.

Consequently, the Second Semester Examinations will kick-off on Monday, 4th March and conclude on 30th March 2024.
The end of session is slated for Saturday, 18th May 2024, concluding the academic calendar for the 2022/2023 session.

BUK Academic Calendar

BUK will now resume from the election break on Tuesday, 21st March 2023. The last week of lectures and GSP examinations will take place between 22nd and 31st March 2023.

The second semester examinations will occur from 3rd to 29th April 2023, spanning three weeks. This period includes notable holidays such as Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Eid El Fit, which fall on 7th, 10th, 24th, and 25th April, respectively.
After the last examination, there will be a seven-week end-of-session break, which will last from 1st May to 17th June 2023. Finally, the new 2022/2023 academic session is set to commence on Monday, 10th July 2023.
By providing this updated information, we hope to help students and staff at Bauchi State University, Gadau better plan their schedules for the completion of the 2020/2021 academic session and the start of the 2022/2023 session.
