How to Apply for Ku Leuven International Masters Scholarships
General Eligibility for Ku Leuven International Masters Scholarships
It’s important to note that all International students must be interested in one of the following international Master programs for their application to be considered:
- Master of Chemistry.
- Master of Geography.
- Interuniversity Master of Geology (only students who are applying for Surface processes and Paleoenvironments or specialization Geodynamics and Georesources are eligible to apply for the scholarship).
- Master of Physics.
- Master of Statistics.
Ku Leuven International Masters Scholarships Requirements for Application
The following are the basic requirements to apply for the on going programme;
- Applicants must not have already studied or worked at the University of Leuven.
- Applicants must hold a bachelor degree from a foreign university that gives them access to the eligible master program they are applying for.
- Applicants have not yet obtained a master degree or a Ph.D.
- Applicants must be able to prove excellent study records during their former training.
- Applicants must be able to prove very strong knowledge of the English language, by providing English language proficiency test results such as TOEFL (minimum score 94 with at least 19 for reading, 21 for writing, 19 for speaking and 18 for Listening) or IELTS (minimum score 7 overall, with at least 6,5 for reading, 6 for writing, 6 for speaking and 6 for listening).
- Applicants must be highly motivated to follow a master program at the Faculty of Science of the KU Leuven.
- Applicants must be willing to act as ambassadors for the master’s program they are applying for.

How to Apply for Ku Leuven International Masters Scholarships
- All Applicant should do well to note that they will have to visit the Ku Leuven International Application Portal @ https://wet.kuleuven.be
- Upload the following information via the application portal:
- A list of course titles for which they have obtained a credit. Indicate the course size (in ECTS-credits) and the result they obtained, if it’s not according to the ECTS-scale, students are required to provide a summary explanation on the meaning of the scores;
- Provide a brief description of the courses from their previous/current program that they consider most relevant as a preparation for the master program that you are applying for. The Description must be according to the standard guidelines for an ECTS-study guide.
- Two recommendation letters of internationally renowned professors;
- A motivation letter for the master’s program.
