Basic Qualifications of Nigeria Maritime University Admission Form
MAU Recruitment General Eligibility
All Applicant should note that they are required to possess the following:
- A minimum of 180 marks in the 2022/2023 UTME for:
- Nautical Science
- Marine Engineering and
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Maritime Transport and Business Studies.
2. A minimum of five (5) credit passes in Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS in relevant subjects.
3. Applicant MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.
4. Candidates who selected Nigeria Academy Maritime as their institution of First Choice and have scored the specified cut-off marks to attend the Post JAMB UTME screening

Physical and Medical Fitness
- Note: Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as international convention (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all sea men to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training
Marital Status Required
- Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.
Age Limit for NM Each Programme
- Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at the time of commencement of the programme.
- Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at the time of commencement of the programme.
Nigeria Maritime University Post utme cut off mark
- The official cutoff mark for Nigeria maritime university admission is 170. So this means your jamb cutoff mark must be 170 and above. in essence, cutoff mark minimum is 170. So if you have a jamb cutoff mark of 170 and above, you have chances of going to the third stage which i jamb admission confirmation.

This is to notify Candidates for the 100 level screening exercise that they are requested to come for their screening with the following items/documents:

a. Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include.
– Mathematics
– English Language,
– Physics

b. Applicants Must possess a National Diploma Certificate in Nautical Science with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Also, candidates must have JAMB Registration number.
c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one-year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one-year cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
d. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.
B. Marine Engineering
a. Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include

b. Applicants Must possess a National Diploma Certificate in Maritime Transport and Business Studies with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Also, candidates must have JAMB Registration number
c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one-year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or acquired a minimum of one-year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.

How to Apply for Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Admission Form
Eligible candidates should log on to the Academy website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and take the following steps:
- Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
- Create an Account
Generate and Print the Payment Slip - Proceed to any of the banks listed on the portal to make payment using the eTranzact Payment
- Platformor pay online
Return to the Academy Portal to complete the Registration Form. - Candidate must download Applicant Medical Examination
- Form(Form M) from the application portal.
- This form must be duly completed and signed before upload on the portal.
Note: Candidate are expected to undergo the following medical test at any Government Hospital and upload medical result on the application portal.
